Author Guidlines

Journal of Social Welfare Research and Practice is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research articles, theoretical papers, and practice-based studies in the field of social welfare. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge, policy development, and professional practice aimed at improving social well-being.

1. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods)

  • Theoretical and Conceptual Papers

  • Practice-Based and Case Study Articles

  • Policy Analysis and Program Evaluation Studies

  • Review Articles (systematic or critical reviews)

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals.

2. Manuscript Language

Manuscripts must be written in English. Authors are responsible for ensuring clarity, coherence, and grammatical accuracy.

3. Manuscript Length

  • Full articles: 5,000–8,000 words, including references

  • Abstract: 150–250 words

  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be prepared in the following order:

  1. Title

    • Concise, informative, and reflective of the manuscript content

  2. Author(s) Information

    • Full name (without academic titles)

    • Institutional affiliation

    • Email address

  3. Abstract

    • Brief overview of the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

  4. Keywords

  5. Introduction

    • Background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study

  6. Literature Review / Theoretical Framework

    • Relevant theories, previous studies, and conceptual framework

  7. Methods

    • Research design, data collection, sampling, instruments, and data analysis

  8. Results / Findings

    • Clear presentation of research findings

  9. Discussion

    • Interpretation of findings in relation to existing literature and theory

  10. Conclusion

    • Summary of key findings, implications, and recommendations

  11. Acknowledgements (if applicable)

  12. References

5. Formatting Requirements

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Paper size: A4

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Page numbers: Bottom center

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and provided with clear titles and sources.

6. Citation and References

The journal uses the APA (7th Edition) referencing style. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all citations in the text appear in the reference list and vice versa.

7. Ethical Considerations

For research involving human participants, authors must:

  • State that ethical approval was obtained from an appropriate ethics committee (where applicable)

  • Confirm that informed consent was obtained

  • Ensure confidentiality and anonymity of participants

Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

8. Plagiarism Policy

All submissions will be screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s acceptable threshold will be rejected or returned for revision.

9. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors should ensure that the manuscript file does not contain any identifying information.

Editorial decisions include:

  • Accepted

  • Accepted with minor revisions

  • Accepted with major revisions

  • Rejected

10. Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, supporting the principle that research should be freely available to the public.

11. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Published articles are distributed under the journal’s open-access licensing policy.

12. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s OJS submission system. Authors are required to complete all metadata accurately during submission.
